Succulent paintings

This summer I’ve been working on this commission piece at a snail’s pace. I’m loving all of this natural light and getting all the details of a very tiny succulent, in my new studio on my porch in Turners Falls.

My intentions with this blog is to share my thoughts and progress of my art. I don’t really paint in a straight line generally, I love jumping from one painting to another. Whatever I’m really into at the moment that’s what I will work on. My favorite thing is starting a new painting, mixing and laying those first bits of bright color. What I’ve always struggled with after graduating, has always been finishing paintings. I’m a slow painter, but I’m working on it. My goal is to finish more paintings before the end of the year. Here are some photos of what I’ve been up to this summer! Again, keep in mind everything is a work in progress.
